dojo spawning, playing, or bullying?

Every now and then my male dojo starts chasing the chubbier female all over the tank with his head right behind her pectoral fin. The female doesn't look gravid to me, just a normal healthy plumpness. Is this just normal behavior?

It's probably a bit silly, but I was a little worried that he might be trying to bite her fins or something, since thats sort of what it looks like, but I've never heard of dojos doing anything that aggressive.
