Hi all,
There is a species of Homaloptera listed on my Vietnam supplier's list for next week, but have very little info to go on. They simply have it listed as 'Homaloptera sp.' and the only piece of further info I have managed to get is that they are collected from the River 'Nam cat tien' in the province of 'Lam Dong'. Any ideas as to which species this might be?
Thanks!
Emma

Must be one of the species occurring in the Mekong. Most of the fish I have seen from that region are Mekong species.

Emma,
Nam Cat Tien is a conservation area in Lam Dong Province.

The principle river is the Dong Nai, the second largest river system in Vietnam.

Here's it's reference from Fishbase. Click on Show other species. You'll get a list which includes some Balitoridae, notably Homaloptera smithii.

Possibly, maybe?

It will be interesting to see what shows up. You may end up with several species as is often the case with smithi shipments.
We'll, of course, expect pics. :)

If you go for it Emma

Thanks for your input everyone! :D
I have taken the chance and ordered them, so we'll have to wait until next Tues evening to see if they turn up. Fingers crossed!
