Do Loaches take well to LED lights?

Post by ey » Mon Nov 10, 2008 12:58 am

I am looking at getting some additional lighting for the loaches and have read that moonlights are well known to be favourite for the clown loaches as they seem to come out and explore more when the moonlights are turned on (for most hobbyists).

I was just wondering if they will also come out if I installed some LED lights?

Not sure if the link below will work, but basically I have a choice between getting the moonlight (which looks rather small for a 6ft tank) or getting a few LED lights. From the photos I've seen pics of tanks with the LED lights switched on at night, it does transform the aquarium into another experience.

Has anyone used such LED lights on their tanks with success? Or would it be a safer bet to stick with the moonlights?

as for LED i had them in a previous tank and to be honest didnt rate them that much compared to the moonlight units
