I was confused by the diffenerence on the nos of the markings as well.
Eventually, this lovely species is finally identified as Protomyzon pachychilus, a rare species from Guangxi Province in China. However, there's not much info about them, here's a simple description:

Here's some pics provided by a collector at a local forum "Aquarecord" in China:

Very nice looking fish. They look much nicer than the other Erromyzon (formerly Protomyzon) species I have seen or kept.
I wonder how much the pattern changes as they mature.

Some more pics of Protomyzon pachychilus can be seen here: http://www.aquaticquotient.com/forum/sh ... hp?t=51675

Common name is Panda Loach, certainly is a stunning looking fish :)
