Hey Martin.....

Post by mamaschild » Tue Nov 25, 2008 12:41 pm

Not to be nosey or anything, but when I see your name on a Photo, it makes me a bit nervous ;)

So....I know this isn't you, and I thought you might want to know if your pics are being used.

Please forgive me if they have permission

I like the way it says "stock photo". My flippin' stock!

I give up on this photo stealing thing. If there are so many people out there with no sense of ethics I think it's just evidence of poor upbringing.
We're fighting a whole generation.
People are so hooked on instant gratification that dealing in an honest way just doesn't do it for them. I doubt they give a damn that they know they're using someone else's copyright material.

There are ways that you can post the photos that they cannot be copied (at least directly) the only way around it would be to take a screen shot and then you would get a poor quality reproduction. Unfortunately I don't remember how do put up a photo so it can't be copied.

I can't believe it is legal for them to show one fish and sell another. Can we protest this person.

Dang, I guess this just continues to happen everywhere

Sorry to be bearer of bad news.....I just thought I should let you know  I know I've been furious the times it's been done to me :?

Anyway, I'm not exactly sure how to "report" a sale on Aquabid? I was considering sending the seller an email telling him just what he's done wrong....believe it or not, some don't think it's wrong to use another's photo if they state something...like stock photo ;)

HUGS for Martin....sorry

As far as I am aware there is not a way which can not be easily overcome, disabling right-click functionality et al is easy to get around. Pictures can be water-marked which detracts from the overall purpose of a picture and even then it would not deter people from using them. The problem lies not in education but in enforcement.

You should demand a percentage. You've provided a necessary aspect of their marketing and sales programme. Everyone "eat a food"
"I can eat 50 eggs !"

Yet again....

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Tropical-fish-Cha ... 240%3A1318

Not sure who took this photo, but it is on the species index. Sorry if they have permission but this really p****** me of when this happens. Idiots

They should have come up with a way by now so that photographs/images are unable to be copied unless permission is given.

I believe that sid picture is one of Jessica Kauspedas'. She appears here rarely, but used to be active on Badmans Tropical Fish website.
