how long do clown loaches rest i have one that seems to recently love laying on his side

Most loaches love to scare their owners by laying on their sides, on their back, floating at the top, stuck in cracks, wedged behind filters. This is normal. But if he is breathing hard while doing this, it could be sick.

he seems to lay thier and let the other loach bite/ peck him up

He's probably dying from ammonia exposure. He needs to go in a quarantine tank.

It's funny that this came up right now.

I was going to post something yesterday saying that my clowns never exhibit this behavior.
