ID please - maybe Schistura?

Post by zmo63 » Tue Feb 10, 2009 12:19 am

I found 13 of these in a store I don't normally go to. They were marked "Suma Botia."

I've been combing the species index, but am coming up with nothing... Any ideas? I assumed it was Schistura, but maybe not?

Thank you as always!

Maybe this one? The pics in the gallery are more like yours.

They could be Maysae , Maysae and Pallidus are often confused ! I think you can Id Maysae by a reddish patch just under the black spot on the dorsal fin ?

Thank you! Of the two, I'm leaning towards pallidus. I don't remember seeing any red at all, but they're still small.

If I bought them, I'd feel compelled to buy the whole lot of them, and I don't have room :( I hate leaving interesting loaches at the store!

Time with growth is good.

But first thoughts are indeed Nemacheilus pallidus.

I know how that has to be killing you. I think its time to set up an extra tank ;)
By the way, how are the coricas and savonas doing?
