Couldn't see any G. viriosus, but if I see any in future shipments they will be reserved for you straight away. Alas, that really huge Gastro did not make it.
Emma you are wonderful (-: I thought you would have already let us know if there was anything, there i'll just keep hoping for the next shipment.
It is a shame about that big gastro, any idea what it might have been?

The info on the aggression levels of this species were based on limited available info. This species is not widely available in the hobby. So, as more people keep this fish, we will be better able to determine if the aggression levels reported are the norm.

Sorry Les, no idea. Unfortunately I wasn't in when it was found.

Yes, it wouldn't surprise me at all if these loaches aren't as aggressive as is mentioned in the species index. I think we only had one report on behaviour, and this may not have been all that accurate.

Is the max size (4.5 inches) likely to be correct? I'm seriously considering asking you to reserve a few for us... Shall need to throw a few stocking suggestions out there for comments at some point. I think we want too many fish in our little tank

They won't go on sale for a couple of weeks yet, so no hurry to make up your minds. Plus I can't see 160 of them selling that quickly anyway. In the meantime I will spend time observing them and let you know what I see.

Emma these look very simmilar to what I recieved about a month ago. Mine where sent as Vanmanenia Hainanesis. Agression wise they have been acting similar to typical shistura behavior. Not sure if they actually are V Hainanensis, as mine have been growing quite quickly. The largest is in the 4 inch range already.

Vanmanenia Hainanesis are from China. These are from Taiwan. Similar in looks but the Vanmanenia Hainanesis have more prominent eyes and structure within the facial area.

As promised, here are some more photos. These pics were taken late one evening, so please excuse the MTS (which emerge from the substrate at about that time) and also any carbon pieces from the bags they were shipped in. Unfortunately, I think I placed them in one of the most scratched up tanks in the shop too.

I was rather pleased with the following two shots. "When shall we 3 meet again?"!!

Remember, these have been taken only a few days after import, we are working on getting some weight on them.

As for the aggression level, I have seen some of them shove each other off of stones etc, but so far have seen nothing worse than when Gastromyzon have a bit of an argument with one another, for example. However, the fact that there is such a high number of them in one place could be suppressing the aggression.

Those are nice looking fish. I love the markings and barbels.
They should really look nice after they receive some of your famous tender loving care.

Hi Emma.

It is splendid photographs!
Their golden brightness comes out well.
The lighting technique is very excellent.

I breed only one of them for around 2 months.
It is not aggressive at all.
It selected a place to stay as the corner of the tank and came to hardly leave the place.
When I give frozen bloodworms, it waits for the good opportunity at the place.
Hillstream which is the most aggressive with my tank is Swellia, and next is P.cheni.

Hi Graeme.
Thank you for the scientific name of the Chinese lizard fish(Vanmanenia hainanensis).
The difference was too subtle, and I couldn't classify.

Ps. even departure is 5 days more.
I am not used to English. Therefore,It is likely to sometimes misunderstand it.

How sure are we that these are Crossostoma lacustre :?:

If they are I would like to get these into the Loach presentation and there are a couple of very nice pics there that should be included.
