jörg freyhof just wrote me about your pictures.
they are great
this new species is on sale in germany and switzerland as s.breviventralis. seems uncertain.
could be s.diardi as they look like. would correspond with laos as origine.
but: it is confirmed that the european imports come from vietnam, hue province.
however: will get them within next three weeks.

Hi ch.koenig,
I am in the process of trying to get a definite collection location off of my supplier. He said Laos, but I want to get him to double check.

Sewellia breviventralis Emma.

I just got back from The Menagerie and Harold showed me Aquarium Glaser's website. It's Hillstream Loach Week!

Happy Hillstream week indeed! Mick, I saw Hels half naked after her streak round the hotel on the Sun morning, so yes mate, you owe her a tank. Heheheh! :P

Martin, I have already seen Aquarium Glaser's pics, they may well be right, but I have seen them get it wrong on many an occasion. Whatever they turn out to be, they are beautiful loaches.

Some lovely fish

That Erromyzon sinensis in the 4th link looks like a cheni to me, it looks nothing like the Erromyzon sinensis we have in the species index.

Pardon my honesty - I am a Northerner

14 loach species bred, which will be next?

Yes, when Harold showed me that at the shop I thought, "That looks wrong".
