HUGE surprise fry

Post by janma » Tue Apr 14, 2009 4:45 pm

After lights out I was checking the tank for two Atyopsis sp., hadn't seen them in a while. But I found them and also a little Sewellia of the size 1cm. This was a huge surprise because of the tanks other inhabitants, Sid's & Schistura cf. balteata being the biggest predators.

Also when there is one, there are often more of these. This also gives hope to see some Schistura cf. balteata fry some day, since they are once again digging holes around tank.

Superb! 8) Aquarium bred Sewellia take ages to grow on, so expect them to be little for a while.

This isn't the first time, I have had tens of Sewellias sold earlier. So I am aware of the slow growing. But this was unexpected with the setup of fish I have.
