it's not often we get imports of this species, homaloptera's we get.
it could be they don't fair well either in the holding stations or in the transport of them.
your a lucky lad for being in the country they're found.

Hi joyban!
Welcome to LOL.

I watched the link which you introduced.

I am very interesting.
I do not know it about an Indian freshwater fish very much.
I look forward to various information.

A fin is smaller than your thing, but is similar a little.

Hi

Thank you all, for the answers..

I had been gifted a few of these by my friend which I had introduced in my community aquarium, but unfortunately they did not survive in captivity.

The biotope is rocky and partly very steep, and fast flowing. The rocks often algae covered (on which they scrape the Aufwuchs from).

Here are some intresting links to some of the Loaches found in India...

Sujoy, thats the problem in keeping them the power of flow and the oxygen content of the water needs to be at the top level otherwise the fish will suffer.

Hi All,

Here is an other link to some other laoches from Western Ghats in India

http://www.aquapress-bleher.com/index.p ... &Itemid=40

@mick, yes I have to now create a special tank to keep these loaches, and more importantly I will now have to go and collect a few from the wild as these fishes are not very popular and are generally found in very remote hilly areas of the western ghats lot of which falls under protected forests. So one will need to have special permission as well.
