Hi guys,

So I am expecting 7 Y. splendida to arrive tomorrow from Frank....are these guys particularly viscious to their tankmates or is it too early to tell? I have one huge tetra (identity unknown), 2 arulius barbs, 6. B. udomritthiruji (emperor botias), 3 Y. caudipunctata, 1. Y. eos.....will these guys co-exist with my existing setup? I have plenty of rock/wood work in the tank for shelter....its an 80 gallon tank.

i can't see you having a problem Mike, mine are fine with the other fish infact the caudi's rule over the splendida.

I'm on the edge of my seat! I hope your new buddies arrive in great condition! You'll have to give us drip by drip updates as you get them acclimated and settled in - then of course - the pics!

Unlike Mick mine only have pearl danio's for tank mates, I have seen the splendida swimming with the danio's up in the water but there is no harassing like you would see with sid's etc.

Now mine have settled in they are very vocal, I would say they are as loud as eos, but the click is not as sharp (glass shattering) as eos, it is quite a dull click but easily heard.

My 9 can really go for it so I would think with 7 you will get some loud clicking

Well guys and gals, the Y. splendida arrived today and they look beautiful! They are settling in right now...can't report much else because I am at school right now but will report more later.

was you impressed with your first look at them though Mike, i got another two today as well bit bigger than my originals one is about 3 + body size but still as pretty.

Oh yes, as soon as I saw them emerge from the bags they looked stunning!

I will try to take some photos in the coming days. They are between 2-3 inches in length and seemed to acclimate to the new tank unusually quickly.

Yes, exactly. A few specimens hid but 4 of the 7 were out and about, sorting through the gravel in search of food within the first few minutes...fascinating! The yellow in the caudal fin is particularly striking. On another note, I hadn't realized how much my Y. caudipunctata had grown. When I bought my group of 3 4 years ago, they were 2-3 inches in length like the Y. splendida group I have now. Now, my caudis are huge!!! Must be 5-6 inches TL.
My Y. lecontei specimen is huge as well and I bought it as a scrawny tiny baby, no more than 3 inches, and thin as a pencil at the time.

Congrats Mike! Glad they are doing so well!

I guess this means Frank's gets a thumbs up on quality and service? Can you give some info on how the ordering and shipping process went, how they packaged them and such.
