Some new fatties

Post by David R » Sun Jul 12, 2009 7:19 pm

Today I picked up 6 new clowns, one just under 6", two just over 6", and three around 7", two of which are massively fat with eggs!! I didn't want to stress them more by taking pics of them with the measuring tape, but the squares on the bottom of the bins are a little over 2" across.

As bad as it sounds, they were a little disappointing. I had been told that two were close to a foot long and two were slightly smaller, so I was expecting 4 9"+ loaches.
For now they are in a 630L tank with 25 other clowns from 3" to nearly 8". Some of my larger ones are much more slender looking than the big fat females, so hopefully I have a mix of males and females. Some time soon (hopefully before the end of the year) I will be setting up a dedicated loach tank for them, probably around 800-1000L and 2-2.5M long.

Pretty slim I'd guess.
Here's a video of the tank;
