will two hillstream loaches be enough?

Post by lynnzer » Tue Aug 04, 2009 11:34 am

I have a 90l tanl with a flow 23x with venturi system so my fish and loaches are very happy. In the tank are 6 minnows, 4 danios and 2 gastromyzon hillstream loaches all fish are very active and eating well and I wondered if having just the 2 loaches they will be fine, they dont like each others company but only chase each other is this normal behaviour or is it because there is only two of them?

I think its pretty normal to see them chasing each other.
They are pretty territorial when it comes tot their favorite rock.
But don't worry they won't hurt/kill each other.
Pardon my English, I'm from Holland....

Sometimes adding more can keep one fish from concentrating on bothering another. Hillstreams will chase each other like this, but can really not hurt each other. However, if one is much more dominant that the other, it may keep the subordinate fish from getting enough food.
