Donna, Mad Duff and Irab - Thanks for the encouragement.

Piggy4 - The Meso's can be a little boisterous but not to Schistura denisoni levels.

Here are couple of other Meso's for you

Mesonoemacheilus guentheri

Mesonoemacheilus herrei

Mesonoemacheilus triangularis

Matt: Thanks. I wasn't 100% sure due to a discussion elsewhere on narayani vs setnai.

Mick: The stigmofasciatus are gentle as you mentioned. Very interesting behaviour wise too. They sometimes put their head out of the water..very balitorid like

Once again Beta thanks for the 8) pics !

I feel I may have actually kept a small group of M.herrei ? they came in with M.triangularis and were much more docile than Guentheri or Triangularis ! would that be the case ?

Also does M.pulchellus look similar to Meso's Guentheri and Herrei ?

Yours Andy :)

Andy: I collected these from Valparai in Western Ghats and I didn't find any triangularis there. I don't know if there is any commercial collection taking place in that area but the triangularis is more common on the Kerala side.

chefkeith: Thanks!

Will try and post the Bhavania? pics tonight.

Bully: Thanks! Your tips on the Sicyopterus was very helpful..

Look Ma, no fins :)

The Male Sicyopterus griseus

This is what I think is a Bhavania australis but a confirmation would help.

Great stuff beta! What a treat it must be to collect these fish in your own backyard! The sicyopterus are looking good.
