ID this loach

I'm not sure but it looks very much like Acanthocobitis pavonacea to me but I have only ever seen one photo of that species.
So many species of fish yet so little time, space and money to keep them all...

Do you have any other information on the fish? Obviously collection area or country of origin would be hugely beneficial.
So many species of fish yet so little time, space and money to keep them all...

According to Menons book Pavonaceous is from the Brahamaputra basin of India !

I'm more and more certain that it is the correct ID. I can't find any other suitable ideas.

Sorry none.

It came in with other loaches from South East Asia, that is all I know.
Actually, this loach belonged to a friend a few years ago and I was keeping it for him for a couple of weeks until he had his tank set up ...

I was reviewing some old photos when I came across it and I could not remember the trade name or common name.

I will call it Pavonacea for now ...
