And here's some of my six happy kuhlis under the shelf beneath the rock:
In addition to a comfy hide spot, it's also a great place to feed them (using 16" curved hemostats) so the angelfish don't wolf down all their food -- although I did see an angel go in underneath the shelf sideways once. I kid you not!

Carpe Didelphis!
Saint Dracula, it's nothing more than four caps from bottled water filled with sand, and a hunk of acrylic set on top. The heavy rock decoration keeps it all in place. Sand sprinkled over the acrylic gives the kuhlis a sense of being protected, but allows some light in so I don't need to freak them out with a flashlight to see them.

Intrepid? Is that a new euphemism for Frenzied & Slaveringly Rabid?
The acrylic is now barely half an inch from the front and side of the tank, and the angels can't bend to fit in underneath. So far ...
