new large clown loaches

Post by bookpage » Sun Feb 07, 2010 1:15 am

Just bought two large clown loaches yesterday for my 125 gallon aquarium. Here are two videos of them:

I had to take my red-tail shark to the lfs, because he would not leave the clowns alone. They are out now, swimming and doing a lot better with him gone.

they're very good looking chunky fish as are the rest of the clan. 8)
iv'e found the same thing with rtbs's any new fish and they would pounce on them, my fish have tamed the one i have at the moment, he chased everything in the tank for the first day but got a battering the same night now it keeps itself to itself.

They look as happy as kids in a candy store.

Hi,

They are very beautiful clowns!! Did you buy them in a LFS, coming from another aquarium?

Thank for sharing.

See you

A couple that raised them, along with about 90-100 more fish, are having to move and they can't take all their tanks with them. He has already moved up north from Texas and she is having to get rid of everything. She sold them to the LFS and since they know I like loaches, they called me. Could only afford to buy two. She had seven.

The woman did not work, so all she did was change water every day and feed them high dollar food. Was told the clowns are only a couple of years old.

Book,
lovely fish- how big are they? I.E. in centimeters or inches or cubits. Can't tell in the video.

My best guess is that they are between 6 and 7 inches long.

>6" at a coupe of years old??!!? Even if "a couple" is 3 that's still very encouraging, and shows me I'm doing something very wrong.
It's also making it that much more difficult to keep from finding excuses to re-build my tank to 200-odd gallons....
