how to move YoYo loches from one tank to the other

Post by natalia » Mon May 24, 2010 1:15 pm

Hi everybody,
I have three YoYo loaches in my gourami tank. They have to be moved in my new loach tank. The problem is that the tank they are currently in is heavily planted 75G with a big piece of wood they hide underneath. Netting them is out of question as this will destroy the tank and stress other fish. I need some kind of trap that they would go into, but gouramis would not. Doe anybody have an idea? The fish are about 4 inch long.

Thanks,
Natalia.

You can make a trap out of a plastic water bottle. Size to suit the fish. For 4" Yoyos I would look for a bottle with a wide mouth. Perhaps a 1 quart (1 liter) Gatorade sort of bottle.
Cut off the top, invert it, and stuff it back into the bottle. Bait in the bottle.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!
