I'm so jealous of this tank. I hope one day I can have a tank half as beautiful as this with hillstream loaches. Amazing photos, your water is pristine :) I would love to see more!

You have some amazing fish.

Can you tell us what you feed them, and what is your list of fish in the tank? Do you do the algae-covered rock trick?

Wow. You have such a beuatiful tank there. I am completely jealous.
5ft long rocky hillstream tank - Sewellia lineolata and spotted... and lots (and lots) of spotted fry
8ft Clown loach tank: 30+ clown loaches, 10+ Yoyos.
6ft tank for 16x botia kubotai, 13x Striata, 6x Sidthimunki - I need more sids

Nice tank. :D

I think you're right.
It looks exactly like my fishes that were identified as Hypergastromyzon humilis.
They are nice, extremely flat little creatures. :)

Many thanks to all!

Here is a list of fish in my tank:
Sewellia lineolata
Sewllia sp. spotted
Hypergastromyzon cf. humilis
Gastromyzon viriosus (i hope i can find some more in the future!)
Gastromyzon ctenocephalus
Gastromyzon sellatus
Gastromyzon zebrinus
Gastromyzon scitulus
about 100 Caridina, Neocaridina and some snails for tank cleaning
Tanichthys albonubes natural form

Plants:

Anubias barteri nana
Vallisneria tortifolia
Vallisneria spiralis
Microsorum pteropus
Hydrocotyle leucocephala
Cryptocoryne wendtii red and green form

Plants are always a good choice because they help to improve water quality and help to hold the O2 level high at day.
I filter my tank with a eheim professionel3 1200XL, 1700 liters per hour, 25 liter volume filter and much bio filter medium helps you to keep the nitrite and nitrate levels low.
I also use a UVC system to keep the pressure germ low.
I feed them with frozen bloodworms, artemia shrimp, cyclops, daphnia, chips, tablets, shrimpsticks and natural alge.

Fantastic tank, Menu!

What's your experience with Hypergastromyzon compared to the other balitorids so far?

In this size tank I have absolutely no problems to keep so many different species together.
In smaller tanks, it may be more difficult because larger Balitorids like Sewellia could be very territorial.
Hypergastromyzon and Gastromyzon species are very clever and know where to find their food. If you makes sure they get enough to eat and have enough space to avoid you will not have problems.

I should have been more specific with my question. :)
I meant the difference in behaviour between Hypergastromyzon and the other balitorids.
My Hypergastromyzon are the boldest and most active species in the tank; they behave like little children.
At night they will rest in the strongest current.
The only problem I had in the beginning is to get them used to the offered food; Some will start feeding after a few days, others after several weeks.
None of my Gastromyzon will eat live or frozen food, only algae, tablets with Spirulina, vegetables. The Hypergastromyzon do like the tablets and will eat some live and frozen food. They do graze on the algae, but not as much and efficient as the Gastromyzon.
