you have a couple of interesting looking tanks, from a distance
what is in each of your 75's, if you don't mind ( I just like the look, and like seeing what others are doing with my sized tanks)
I especially like the overall design of the tank perpendicular to the 125 wall (straight in front of the camera in your fish room shot).
Nice driftwood.

Thank you, Glenna.
My 75 have:
75a - 5-Queen, 8-Zebra, 4-Skunk and 35+ Sids
75b - 18-Neon Rainbow, 17-cherry bards, 5-red-tail, 5-Mesonoemacheilus guntheri and 7-Serpent loaches
My 125 has an outbreak (heavy) of ick. Using Rid-Ick+ and raising temp.
Here are pictures of my two 75s taken in August. Little more growth from plants now.

Wow, you have some lovely tanks. Have you had any trouble with the praecox rainbows? I've tried them twice (separated by a few years and in different tanks) and they've all mysteriously died on me fairly quickly. Never happened with any other fish species.

I bought the rainbows over 6 months ago off Aquabid and have not lost any yet. Really easy fish to keep and are eating very well. Always hungry.
Thank you for your comments about my tanks. Have had much better luck with my 75s than I have with my 125.

I have bosemani and turquoise rainbow in my 125g with seven clown loaches and some Buenos Aires tetras. The rainbows are excellent dithers. Beautiful on their own - just lovely fish to look at. They interact, and share food well with the clowns, which are the purpose of the tank.
Hey, how is it going on the ich battle? That is such bad luck. Do not give up. As you know, ich is just a relentless foe and requires a lot hard work.
I hope the rid ich+ is working okay for you!

fighting ick is not going well. my 90 year old dad is in ICU and I have not been able to treat the tank today and change any water.
So far I have lost 18 clowns and 5 other loaches. Does not look to be the end either. And did not change any yesterday. I am feeling about as low as low can be.
Thank you for asking though.

I am so sorry to hear about your fish. It isn't what you need when your dad isn't feeling well.
Do you have an LFS that would take your fish while you sort out your ick problem. We used to have an LFS that would board your fish, especially in time of emergency. They could care for your fish, you care for your dad, then break down the 125 and get your fish back from the LFS when your tank has stabalized. You shouldn't need to worry about your fish right now. You have enough.
The LFS that sold you the bad 125, should be responsible for the health of the fish you lost. It sounds like all of these stresses together have brought out this horrific ick incident.
I wish I was closer so I could help you out. Do you havea local fish club who have members who could help you out? I hope things get better very soon for you.

Sorry about all of this bad news. I agree that the store who sold you the tank should help you in some way. It is hard. The loss of fish, ick, and family issues make it all harder. The first time we had ick, was when we just started. Not knowing what do do, and the fact that we just started made everything harder. It is definately hard to get rid of.
Good luck with everything.
Good luck with everything.
Hang in there...
and keep us posted when you are up to it. We too had ich tear through our brand new tank. We lost everyone, except for one golden loach. It was almost enough to make me say "no more" and quit. I gave myself a few days and realized that although it was horrid, I do want to keep at it.
Now we have ich again, but nothing close to what it was before....I am praying that THIS time, we wont lose anyone.
My best wishes and thoughts go out to you and your dad, AND your fish. Hang in there!

"I'm not *THAT* kind of hunter"
Just wanted to take a few minutes and tell everyone thank you for your comments and kind thoughts.
My Dad did pass away Sunday morning about 11:00. All of my clowns are gone and most of my other loaches. I have two monos doing fine and a few yo-yos left.
I am going to wait 3-4 weeks before I put any fish in the 125 and try to be sure all the ick is gone. Planing on buying a UV sterilizer and hook it up to a AC 70.
Can I run the AC 70 out of water, or does it have to be in water?
