LOL British meeting 18/08/2006

Post by Emma Turner » Fri Aug 18, 2006 6:36 pm

A big thank you to everyone who was able to make it to the meeting today, I had just the best time. :D

Here's a (rather blurry) group photo of us loachy lunatics.....Hopefully some of you may have a more in-focus shot.

It was fantastic to see everyone, and I hope you all enjoyed your visit. I hope that the people who bought fish (you know who you are!!) are not in the dog-house!

Martin said he'd do a photo-report once he's back across the pond, so I look forward to that. :D

That's a much better picture than the one from my camera. :D
But can the regulars who didn't attend the meeting guess who's who????

I think I know who the three in the back row on the left are(Emma, Graeme, Martin), but not the rest.
Fill us in.
Its nice you all got to get together. I'm envious.

Yes, you guessed right Jim!

Back row, from left: Emma, Graeme, Martin, Les, and Mark (Mad Duff). And front row, from left, is Helen and Les's other half (who's name I have forgotten  so sorry!).
I bet my clown loach t-shirt was a dead giveaway!

What a happy looking collection of nutters! Nice to see everyone converge for a good purpose. I look forward to Martin's report...

Thank you so much Helen for my lift to and from Crowland. We had a good ole natter in the car :)

You can see from that picture I was snapping pics all over. That's me in front of the Catfish and Loach section.....not too many Catfish

I took pics all over the shop. Why? Wasn't I supposed to be concentrating on the Loaches? Maybe, but it wasn't easy. Is this the "Best Loach Shop In The World"? Can't imagine anything being better......I reckon it's the best FISH SHOP in the world actually. I've never seen such immaculate tanks filled with such healthy specemins in every section of the shop, Freshwater or Marine.....and their display tanks are just awesome.

Helen and I were round Emma and Steve's house till gone 9pm and could probably still be talking now. Great hosts and just super-duper nice people......and Marge is mind-blowing in the flesh!

Today, I have a sore throat because of just SO much talking. To everyone who was there, thanks for being such great people and caring so much about this fabulous hobby. I'm going to remember yesterday with much pleasure.

Graeme......were you summarily executed after arriving home with 3 boxes of fish?

Martin.

I'm fine. Walking with a 'limp' though. Pictures are coming as soon as they settle in.

Thank you for all your kind words about the shop. :D It is always nice to receive such positive feedback, and it helps us to feel that all the hard work we put into setting the place up (almost 4 years ago now) was well worth it. 8)

We rewarded Marge & co with a good helping of prawns late last night, seeing as they co-operated so well for all their visitors yesterday!
