Get em while they are hot!rostratas on sale at petsmart for5

Post by LoachOrgy » Sat Dec 18, 2010 9:43 pm

5 bucks. It may be my local shop but check yours they are having a sale on yoyo loaches for 5 dollars each. They usually sell them for 21$ each at petsmart.

Locally I have never had the opportunity to get yoyo's due to petsmart charing 21 each. Big Al's was sold so they don't carry loaches anymore. The only option was petsmart and I will never pay 21 for a yoyo. Now the clowns are 4.50. So now the yoyos just went on sale. Unfortunately I am leaving town for a week so I can't take advantage of getting a few yoyo's. I would hate for something to happen while I am out of town with new fish. So good luck I hope if your looking they have em near you with that deal. Man I wish I was in town I would have 5 new plump belly 2.5" yoyo loaches.

The sale ends on Xmas eve.

came to find out recently that they are botia rostrata.

If you're ever going to be in the Tampa area, and want to go Loach shopping let me know. I have found a few good places. I have been loading up on loaches over the last few weeks.

I have seen many times that they sell yoyo as kub but sometimes they sell kubs as yoyos. I picked up 5 kubs for $5 each a couple years ago. Make sure you have a spare
Q tank set up to watch them for a while most off the fish I have purchased from central system (filter) have come down with ick.
I need more tanks, more more more

Prices must vary quite a bit. Locally here, yoyos have been available for several years at a price of $3.39 a piece.

At a recent Petsmart stop, it was tiny baby kubotai on sale for $5.50, they look like yoyos at that size. I haven't noticed yoyos at my stores lately but I haven't been looking closely, mostly looking for shipping boxes right now.

they do look like kubotai. so i went back after the holidays. the price increased to 10 each. but they had ich prior to xmas. i went back in and they looked healthy. i got a 10 gallon qt tank setup now. once i put them in the high current/ tubing and rock/ sand ect. they are super happy.

they are doing flips all day long lol and eating well. these guys are much less timid than my striatas and clowns. they come right up to me. picked up 6. they were a little undersized but i will fatten them up quickly.

big al's closed here. and i can't get yo yo's anywhere else. petsmart is the only place that had em and wanted 21$. now they are more reasonable. Ill pay a little more to save a trip to Tampa. if you calculate it out. The gas alone would out price the cost of the fish.

When I was on my aquarium store crawl yesterday to find ways to make my poor Pooh (golden dojo) happy since his chickie passed I saw a bunch of BABY ones for $3.99 at my LFS. Still debating whether I'm happy or not that my big tank isn't set up yet - I have absolutely NO place to put them - but they were so frisky and friendly it was EXCRUCIATING to have to walk out without a whole mess of em.........
