Which Hillstreams Breed Most Readily in Capitivity?

Post by SgtMajWiggles » Wed Jan 05, 2011 3:59 am

I've got Martin's River Tank Manifold plan tweaked to suit my 55 gallon. I think hillstreams would be very comfortable in this tank, and I'm excited by the idea that they might breed. What fish should I get and from where?

Sewellia lineolata is a good choice.
Very easy to breed and not very demanding.
Sewellia sp. Spotted is also not difficult to breed but he tends to be shy.
A small group of at least five pieces is advantageous.

My present Pseudogastromyzon cheni are something like 4th or 5th generation. I haven't bought any in years.

In addition to the above listed species, Liniparhomaloptera disparis is another easy to breed species. The main problem is just finding them.
