Snail-Eaters to Keep with Sids?

Post by SgtMajWiggles » Wed Aug 17, 2011 8:39 pm

I have a 54 gallon corner bow, ultimately for y. sidtimunki. Current inhabitants are platies, endler's and baby BN plecos. Tank is at 78F, pH7.8, with smooth small gravel substrate, mangroves and java moss. I would like to add a snail eater. 'Thinking first of loaches, but open to others; especially gobies! I was avoiding them, however, because I don't want them to eat the fry.

I have kept Zebra Loaches with a breeding colony of Endlers. While I cannot say they never ate fry, I think they did not. The Endler population kept on growing. I did not see snails in there, until I removed the Loaches to a larger tank. I think there may have been a snail or two they did not eat, because when I removed the Loaches the snails came back.
38 tanks, 2 ponds over 4000 liters of water to keep clean and fresh.

Happy fish keeping!
