Yasuhikotakia splendida colouration

Post by Mad Duff » Fri Sep 09, 2011 8:11 am

These two fish are part of my group of 15 Y. splendida, I had noticed a small bit of colouration on one of my group a while ago but nothing to this extent:

This is definately not artificial colouring or a problem with the fish as the intensity of colouration changes and rapidly at times, I am assumimg that this is male maturity/spawning colouration as I have never heard reports of it been seen before

Its certainly unusual Jim, I did see a photo of a large wild rostrata last year with a lot of red colouration and am wondering if this was a similar thing.

Neil they settled in lovely mate, not as much clicking as I expected but all 15 seem happy enough today :D

Thank you EmilyMarie :)
