I recently found another nice Gastromyzon viriosus in a shipment of G. scitulus at my favorite LFS.
I have noticed that most Gastromyzons coming in these days, at least in my area, are scitulus instead of the usual mix of ctenocephalus and ocellatus, and in those shipments, are the occasional viriousus.
So, if anyone is interested, keep your eyes open for this beautiful species!
Anyone looking for Gastromyzon viriosus?

Thats great Jim!!
I hope you have luck with him.
Good size??
It's true in the winter months you can find the rarest species also here in Austria. Like Hypergastromyzon, viriosus....
And in the spring always nice large specimens.
But unfortunately G.viriosus are far too rare in the trade.

I would love to be able to find Hypergastromyzon or even Neogastromyzon too!.
My LFS is very good about holding any striped fish that comes in with the Gastromyzons.
This fish is about 1.25in (3cm) and appears healthy. Of course I am always nervous with hillstreams until I see them actively feeding.
