Hello. First post here :D

A few days ago, I bought 6 gastromyzon. They were sold as just regular gastromyzon. No other name. I'm curious to see if they are either G. ctenocephalus or G. scitulus. Took some photos when I was acclimating before putting them in their quarantine tank. From what I've seen from the different photos, I'm thinking they are G. ctenocephalus from the lines on their tail and markings on their dorsal fin. Spot pattern look to be G. scitulus though. Not sure and would appreciate to know what they really are.

I think G.ctenocephalus is right.
The spots of a typical G.scitulus looks a bit different.

I agree that it looks like ctenocephalus.

Thank you. Nice to know that they are ctenocephalus as they were what I wanted in the first place.

Its interesting. It used to be that the shipments of gastros in my area were always a mix of ctenocephalus, ocelatus and maybe a stellatus or two. Sometimes even zebrinus.
Now I see mostly scitulus and very rarely a viriosis mixed in.
