hurt weather loach

Post by lalaland8700 » Fri Apr 19, 2013 6:11 pm

hello!

my weather loach's nose area has a big open wound; you can see his flesh. I dont know how he obtained the injury, and im not sure how long it's been there. He eats normally (i have him on Aqueon shrimp pellets for bottom feeders.) He will also eat any fish food that falls to the bottom... and the leftover algae pellets for the plecostomus. I have him in a 40 gallon with some african cichlids. i try to keep the temp at 68 degrees F through 72. i have a very crappy heater. any way i can get his nose back to norm? i have no idea what to do thanks for any help!

That's a problem. It's possible that he was attacked by the cichlids, or even just chased until he injured himself. Loaches and cichlids do not mix well, and African cichlids even less.
