I've never tried it for ich but I always thought it is effective based on the medication description:

They look fairly happy and healthy, well done. :D
I am glad the sickness is gone.
Yours are funny because they are different sizes and the small ones seem to be following the big fellow around

Thank You :)
They're my darlings.

Yea my husband says its "lucky" and the kids. Lucky being the biggest one.

I have been collecting loaches for years. Lucky has been with me for awhile. But I have had a number of issues with disease and just failure to thrive.

Not for lack of care on my part so much as just bad luck with baby loaches.

Around here its rare to find them in the shop bigger than 2 inches and more common for them to be 1 to 1.5
Very very young as I'm sure you know.

The second largest one I have in there is Gorge who's about 3 or 4 years old
He came from a group that just didn't thrive. They ate and seemed ok but they never seemed to grow at all and then they started dying off. Hes still with me obviously but its been a long battle to get a good sized group of healthy ones...

I absolutly think the antibiotic treatment has been the way to go though... they all look really good now and so far I've not lost any... (knock on wood)

Fingers crossed for you and hopefuly Lucky and Gorge will finally have a long term company.
I recently read a topic on some other forum where someone posted a picture of the condition of clown loaches when they arrive at the LFS after just being imported, and it was brutal, torn fins, fungus/bacterial growths and sunken bellies from what I could see on the picture. No wonder they are so weak for such a long time after we buy them.
