Just curious, why does the loaches.com species profile for this species list the ideal temp at 20-23.8C although (what I've read here) people (Jim, Emma) have had most success at breeding them in temps like 24-26C.
I am a new 200l sewellia tank owner with 8 fish in (4 guys, 4 gals) and would like to know which temp to aim at.
Thanks.

Re: Sewellia lineolata, temp (again)
That was considered a general temperature range for hillstreams most of which previously came from China (Beaufortia, Pseudogastromyzon, etc). The temp listed in the species profile must have missed an edit.
We have now come to learn that the other species from Borneo (Gastromyzons), and Vietnam (Sewellia) live in streams with higher water temps in the 24-26 C range (75-79F). I now keep all my hillstreams regardless of where they are from, around 23-25 C (73-77F). They all do well. The key, I think, is to keep them below 27 C (81F) and keep the water well oxygenated.

My sewellia are in an unheated tank, probably low 70F's. They seem active but are not growing as fast as I hoped.

Re: Sewellia lineolata, temp (again)
Most of my hillstream tanks are unheated but the water temp stays about 75F (24C) due to the heat from the powerheads.
