A True River Tank

Post by chefkeith » Fri Nov 29, 2013 1:47 pm

This week in Practical Fishkeeping they have a story and a few videos about a truly amazing river tank.

Here's the link: http://www.practicalfishkeeping.co.uk/c ... p?sid=6109

Here's an additional youtube video link of their biotope tanks :

And a link to their website:http://www.aqua-szene.de/2013/09/eroffn ... mit-video/

If you don't know know German, this would be a good time to learn. LOL.

This has given me some good ideas for a new clown loach river tank that I've already started building, which should be done by Spring. I'll probably start a new thread for that once I have some water in it.

Here's another video, but translated in English: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edMFUA6iMtQ

In this video they explain that to get the unilateral flow, they have a double bottomed tank, where the water flows underneath the top-bottom, to the other side. That was actually one of Martin's ideas from years ago!

Water flow is 130,000 gallons per hour!
