B. striata - officially endangered

Very sad, this used to be a readily available species, I even wrote an article about this species in TFH at one point.

Hi Mike, nice to see you around again.

It sounded to me like it's only 1 population that's endangered but not all. I really enjoyed my striatas when I lived in MA & always thought I'd be able to keep them again someday...but I thought about the sids we had 30+ years ago. We loved them & tried to get them after a move but they were by then red listed. Of course now sids are bred in captivity so we can get them, though they're quite expensive compared to the wild caught of the old days.

I hope "they" (Asian breeders & importers) can figure out how to keep our pretty striatas in the hobby without damaging their local populations.
