Yoyo Loach with red mouth

Post by Pausativity » Sun Jan 05, 2014 7:39 am

Hi all, I'm new to the forum but I joined to ask your advice on my yoyo loach. I lost two 6" clown loaches to ich after moving to this house in May, which took me by surprised as they've moved in a complete blizzard before and were fine, so I'm a little uptight about what I'm now doing wrong. Apparently others have come across their loaches having red mouths or noses and it could be due to a growth spurt. I haven't found any pictures that closely represent my guy's mouth so I'm worried and would appreciate any experience and thoughts based on my picture that I will upload if I can figure out how to do it. I noticed the mouth yesterday and took a pic. Image. A link to the picture is here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid ... 9bad267186

Could be irritation from a different substrate, or a bacterial infection.

Try some Pimafix and Melafix.

Keep doing partial water changes every few days until it clears up ;)
