Anyone explain the strange behaviour of laying on its side and "breathing" rather rapidly, happens often especially after feeding?

I think it is a ploy to give you a heart attack. They love playing dead and giving you a fright till you get used to the behavior. Mine play dead, roll over, and I am still working on fetch. They fetch the food, just won't give it back....

That is exactly what happened when we went on holiday and left my fish in the capable hands of a friend. Not familiar with this behaviour I got an urgent message what do I do Botia not good, on its side. Don't worry was my reply.
