Thanks for the reference. Makes good sense and I will move him tomorrow.

Can you also give me a reference on my question? I asked an LFS today and he said I could do discus and loaches in the same tank but in reading the forum I get the idea LFS sometimes tell you whatever will allow you to buy...

I have heard the clowns can be too active for a discus tank. I am sure that in a deep enough tank, it would work fine.... but in your "average bear" tank -I can see the problem. Discus are timid, slow moving - peaceful. My nickname for clown loaches is crack fish. They cruise around in high bursts of speed, freak out at the slightest too-fast movement.... Discus look AWESOME in a heavily planted tank. Clown loaches like to eat most plants, and up-root what they don't eat. Granted, I am not speaking from personal experience. Just sharing what I read....

For discus i reckon yoyos and anything smaller is better but clowns are known to be kept by discus breeders like that discus breeder who bred his clowns

From what I found when I researched, there are a total of 5 who make claims to spawning behavior, a spawn and/or fry. They are:

1. Granville Hammond (the discus breeder you are referencing) - This happened in 1995/1996 - somewhere in there. He claimed to have bred clowns and raised the fry successfully. He also claimed the tank reared fry were immune to ich. He said he took tons of pictures, but that those pictures were buried in a storage unit and he couldn't get to them "right now", but would soon and would post pics. That was 1996 - it is now 2012 and no pictures have ever been produced. Long story short - the consensus is that this guy was full of &*^%.
2. Colin Dunlop - this guy got close. He had a spawn, no fertilized eggs though - so there's hope! This was October 2007
2. Emma Turner - had spawning behavior March 2005
3. User name "Hirsty" - claimed to get eggs, February 2007. Pics were taken of the eggs - and he said he would post pics when they hatched (never did). The pics he took of the eggs, eggs don't look much like what Colin Dunlop posted --- I really don't have a clue on this guy.
4. Ola Åhlander - lost a female, cut her open and found eggs. He did go on to claim success including fry, but none of the fry survived

I bet one day like discus clowns will be breedable. Like in the olden days they thought breeding discus was impossible but with artificial dicsus it got easier to breed.
