Pangio doriae ?

Post by Mad Duff » Sat Nov 25, 2006 11:55 am

I know they are not the best photos but I was wondering if these are Pangio doriae, I got them today, they were sold as "Pango's" and they were only £1 each :)

Thanks Emma, I did look at the profile first but just thought I would check :) .

I was a little annoyed actually, I got a B. Striata and B. Almorhae as well for £1 each, I was supposed to get 2x B. Striata and 2x B. Almorhae as well as a B. Histrionica but when I got back to the shop on of the staff had sold one of the B. Striata and B. Almorhae and the B. Histrionica :x .

I would have took them all when I first saw them but Joy and Callum were taking me out for Dinner ahead of my birthday on Monday so to say I was well sick when I got back to the shop is an understatement :( .

9 fairly empty tanks take a bit of filling  , I am rapidly approaching my limit though. After this trip through to Emmas I think at least 4 of my tanks will be finished stocking wise.

The one that didn't look to clever yesterday didn't feed at all last night and was dead this morning :( , the other two enjoyed a feed of daphnia last night and enjoyed some bloodworm this morning.

The one that died is the top fish in the first picture, I cant even say what it was that wasn't quite right with it, I guess it could just be fishkeepers intuition.

Hi Jorge,

Here is a new link to the profile for Pangio doriae:
http://www.loaches.com/species-index/pangio-doriae
(The old one won't work any more as it was a temporary page whilst we were upgrading the species index).

They are quite similar-looking to P. anguillaris, but are a species in their own right.
