Ive been treating my 150G with maracyn/maracyn2 for the past 2 days. I was wondering?
How fast should i see results?
Is it ok to add fish during the treatment?
Should I just be throwing the tablets in, cause ive been melting them in a cup and then pouring it in?
Should I be doing water changes in between dosing?
My PH is ~7.1
temp - 77
Im treating the whole tank just in case, expensive I know. One of my large clown loaches I think has some fin rot, but he also has these 3 little white bumps on his skin.
Couple questions about Maracyn/Maracyn2

Well, I'm not sure what you exactly you are treating for, but I will address the use of Maracyn 1 &2.
First of all, you should let the tablets dissolve in the tank, as it states in the directions. The drugs are designed to dissolve at a given rate. Dumping them in the tank already dissovled might stress the fish more than a gradual release into the water that is accomplished by tank dissolving.
Do the water changes as described in the directions (after 5days/treatments) and then re-dose the tank at the proper level (1 tablet of each drug/gallon of water)
As for when you should see results, that would depend on how bad the problem is and if it is treatable by these two drugs. If you do see results, continue the full treatment.
Bottom line...follow directions.
You should probably wait until treatment is complete and the natural bacteria has had a chance to rebound before adding another fish.

Yes, you're right they don't have much in the way of info on the 100tab bottles. The manufacturer should include more thorough info like what you find in the smaller packages.
Regardless, its always good to check with people who have used a product if you can. Unfortunately, I have had to use both medications on a few occasions.
By the way, when you dissolve the tablets in the tank, you will notice that one of the drugs, (I don't remember which right now) dissolves much slower than the other.
Good luck!!
