buying frozen fishfood online

Post by FishyLady » Sun Jun 10, 2018 2:30 pm

I live out in the sticks here so getting fish/supplies is a bit of a trip I see that you can buy frozen fishfood online but obviously by the time it reaches me it's going to be soft/melting, is it OK to refreeze it? would it harm the fish at all?

I haven't mail ordered frozen fish food but they probably use dry ice & Styrofoam to keep it frozen. That's what they did when my FIL sent steaks.

I ordered like $100+ worth of frozen food from liveaquaria. They frequently have deals where the food is 20% off. They ship it for $19.99 next day air and even factoring in shipping, the food is cheaper here than anywhere else I've looked.

For some reason, a few packets were melted but they refunded me for them when I complained and posted pics

I'd recommend watching for them to be on sale again and then order a bunch.

Liveaquaria packed with like 30+ of those refreezable freezer packs.

Edit:
I guess they are on sale right now. I recommend the Hikari over SF Bay as Hikari adds vitamins to theirs and SF Bay doesn't .
