Gastromyzon in 10 gallon...

Post by buddythelion » Tue Jan 23, 2007 10:57 pm

Hey everyone, just wondering if my two Gastromyzons will still be happy in a 10 gallon tank with 5 danio chopraes as I'm planning to make their current 18 gallon tank to a small nano-reef tank. In the ten gallon there will be bogwood, gravel, 2 50gph powerheads, and a large air wand. Oh, and since I'm posting, what temperature will the Gastromyzon and Danio Chopraes be happy in together as it's getting pretty cold where I live.

My Gastromyzons are quite active and little territorial so I wouldnt put them in a 10 gallon tank. And danios are schooling fish, they prefer to be in groups of six or more, they are also active swimmers so 10 gallons might not be suited for them either. But these are only my opinions.

You are perfectly correct jamma. Both types of fish are very active and need plenty of room. I would not keep them in less than a 20 gallon tank.

Martin.

Thanks for the reply, I'll have to find somewhere else to put them then.
