Gill flukes

Post by Tikobird » Mon Mar 11, 2019 5:38 pm

I put the medicine for gill flukes in the tank but my two yoyo loaches look worse. They're shimmying up the side of the tank and 5rubbing themselves on everything. How do I know if they're dying? They had the flukes a few days before I could get the PraziPro which I put in yesterday. I hate to watch them suffer. :( :( :(
The other fish are fine.

All I can suggest is to be sure you are keeping the water at the highest quality by doing regular water changes. With any luck they will show signs of recovering after the Prazipro, which I have found very effective assuming you are, in fact, treating gill flukes, has taken effect.

But no medication will help if the water quality is suffering. That means zero ammonia and nitrite and very low nitrate, <20.
