i will be going on 2 trips next month.
first trip: leaving Wednesday night and returning sunday afternoon
second trip: leaving Monday afternoon and returning sunday afternoon

i take many trips where i leave Friday afternoon and return sunday afternoon and i haven't had any problems. i feed them right before i leave and the second i get back. so they go approx. 48 hours without food.

how do i feed them when i go on these longer trips if i cant get someone to come over and feed them while I'm gone?
tank #1 has 10 corys and 35 assorted tetras
tank #2 has 5 yoyo loaches

Af mammals, such asd we, spend 90 % of what we eat on heating ourselves, 48 hrs without food con rather well be compared with 5 hurs without anything for us. No problem, what so ever.

In fact, most tropical reverine fish have a month a year without much eating. Fish from lakes are different - the situation is most often more stable, that is, there is Always something to eat, but fish from rivers will manage a fortnagit without any problem. Unless it's fry,

I wouldn't worry about a week or 2 without feeding...but my husband does! So we hire the "manny" next door to come over a few times a week while we're gone. He knows how to clean filters or water if needed, & make sure everything is running ok.

Can you ask a friend or neighbor to come over every other day or 3 to check on your tank?

Either have a neighbour or someone pop round to give what you have measured out and put in containers, or my prefered option of doing nothing and therefore having nothing go wrong.

The fish will be fine for those periods.

Indeed, much more fish die from too much food than from too little.
