Loach ID Pls

Post by Cockroach » Mon Sep 16, 2019 9:34 pm

Bought 4 hillstream loaches yesterday. They were all labelled as S. lineolata. After observing the tank for a while I discovered the tank had 3 types of loaches. S. lineolata, Sewellia sp. "spotted" and an unknown loach.

I bought 3 spotted and the unknown. Does anyone have an ID? I am struggling.

In this link

The 3rd pic down shows a loach that is strikingly similar. Hope this can help with the ID.

I will attach some pics after the loach has settled down and colored up a bit.
Thanks

Hi
Looking at the article: Pseudogastromyzon myersi (?), Sewellia lineolata and Gastromyzon ocellatus. That's the one you were asking for, right?
By the way: I didn't read all, but there is no "suction cup" but "structures similar to those of geckos" (J. Freyhof). It's now 10 years he announced this would be a topic for scientific work. But since 2005 - Nguyen "impact" - no scientist seems to work on hillies.
Cheers Charles
