I need help setting up the current flow in my 50 gallon long river tank. I have been running 2 aquaclear 70's mounted on an intake manifold with intake pipes covered with very open cell sponge. The main problem is that the intakes clog up fast greatly reducing flow. I now have a new Aquaclear 110 in hopes that i can come up with a plan to get the current right in this tank but I have no experience to accomplish this. I read Keith's thread on his new tank and am thinking that a horizontal circular flow might be an option for me? Here's the powerheads I have to work with: 1X AQ 110 (900gph), 2X AQ 70 (400gph each), and 2X Penguin 550 (145gph each). The tank is stocked with 6 Hillstreams (2X Beaufortia kweichowensis and 4X P. fangi. Here's a few pics if it helps:
With the 2 AQ 70's and intake manifold
With AQ110 on same manifold with pipe caped off on 2nd powerhead mounting position
