Clicking video.

Got this today while feeding Hikari Algae Wafers. Always gets them clicking.......naturally, they made even more noise after I stopped filming.

Yes, those are Tiger Barbs. Used to be a shoal of 20, but now there's only two fatties left.

Any particular reason why you havent gotten any more? How do they get along with the loaches?

Well, I had a regular die off of them happening for no obvious reason, then one day it seems a couple died and were hidden in the Java fern. That night, my Aquaclear 500 got bunged up with plant debris and reduced oxygenation.
Several other Tiger Barbs died, plus 3 Clowns one of which was the beautiful alpha fish. I was absolutely, totally gutted.
Since then, I rotated the top spraybar upward so it agitates the surface, added a positive air supply to the venturi on one of the River-Tank manifold powerheads and added the Seio 1500 pump.
I added the Tigers as dither-fish because I seldom saw the Clowns. Since changing the lighting to the bamboo-mounted 12V halogen bulbs, they are out almost all day. They don't need dither fish now, plus the Botia histrionica are as good as Dithers anyway. I prefer to keep the stocking level lower than it was.
I have been musing about maybe adding something like a few Odessa barbs. One of my LFS had in the most stunning ones I've ever seen. Wish I'd bought them there and then.

the male oddessa barb realy looks stunning...
the red and the bright blue or yellow fins really make it a very buatifull fish to look at... they arent that big and don't even look at the botia's only problem is they arent camera shy mine love the damn think and taking pictures is a very hard thing lately

OMG, today is the first day I have heard my clown loaches clicking. Scared me to death. I thought something was wrong with my tank or stand!!!!! :roll:
They were eating those hakari (sp?) wafers. They love them.
Typically, I will go away from them when they are eating, 'cept redworms, they don't even know I am around when I feed those. Neat that they click!!!!! LOL! LOL!
