Is there a difference between zebra and striata?
I've seen both names at the same store, and I swear they were selling the same loach under two different names. Granted, my husband is the loach fanatic not me, but I was wondering if there is a difference and if so how to tell. Thanks for any help.

'Zebra Loach' is a common name used in various countries for Botia striata: http://www.loaches.com/species-index/botia-striata
Common names can differ from country to country, so it shouldn't be totally relied upon. The latin name - Botia striata - is universally recognised. If each batch of these loaches in this shop look like the fish in the profile, then yes, they're the same species.
