New river tank additions
These are the latest inhabitants of my river tank:
Four Annamia normani:
These are lovely fish, active and friendly.
Four Sinogastromyzon wui who will keep out current single Wui company:
Now for some pictures of them in the tank.
Annamia normani getting acquainted with one of the Cheni:
Exploring the bogwood, this one looks like he has tubercles all over, hopefully a male.
Enjoying the blast from a Tunze Stream 6060 head on.
A brave Sinogastromyzon wui not afraid to show his face out and about.
Seeing a Wui out like this would normally be cause for concern but this one seems very active and wandered out to defend the territory he had claimed for himself.
Finally the dithers, six Rasbora pauciferforata (Redline Rasbora). Yes Mad Duff's enthusiasm for these fish is rubbing off!
Looking very washed out in the photo tank:
And colouring up nicely in the tank the next morning:

Thanks Guys :-)
I'm glad you all enjoyed the pictures :-)
The Annamia normani are very P. Cheni like in their attitude, very active and not at all shy. Naturally a P. Cheni like attitude also means a fair bit of territorial aggression which is shared out equally between both species. So far they are all playing well together although we have noticed that one of our female Cheni likes to stir up trouble between the Annamia normani, pestering one to react only to disappear in the direction of another who gets the full response!
I'm not sure i rate them above S. Wui in terms of looks just yet, I have had great pleasure in seeing a number of our Wui out and about today, every time i see them i am always left in awe at just how good they look. It is an odd thing to explain there is something about the body shape, how they move, their marking and of course that beautifully forked tail. How such a small brown loach with very little in the way of colour manage can manage to capture my eye so much i have no idea... Maybe it is just the insane difficulty of getting a good picture of a Wui, i always like a challenge!
The tank is definitely full of life now :-)
