Who's got the biggest ?
To be honest i'm not sure if size matters ? i know there are suggested sizes for most fishes , but every now and then we hear tales of some extra large specimens , I.E Emma's Botia Striata ! and i bet there are more tales of monster loaches out there in loach land ?
Oh comon, size? Tehnique and how much loach makes you feel good is what is important
Personally, the biggest loach (clown) that i saw in person is 5.5 inches in my tank, I guess its just a "baby" comparing to some "monsters" out there. I know that the biggest loach (clown again) in my tiny country i live in, is about 7.8 inches.

i think its sad that Emma's Marge is quite unusual in being so big, as so many clowns should get to be this size, if they werent kept in crap water in too small tanks.
SIZE DOES MATTER!
Emma has a couple of very large yoyos reserved for me, heres some photos. they are the biggest i have seen, but i know plenty of other people have big specimens too

Oddly enough he grew to that size in my old 30G tank (32 inch long foot print). I have since moved him to a tank twice the size it's a 60G now with a 48 inch long footprint. He seems to be getting larger as well.daspricey wrote:Wow, that's great Munkee, just what i'm aiming for when i get the 5ft sorted.Munkee wrote:My largest fish is a 12 inch weather loach named "Doppler". I have not seen another get that large.
What size is he in?
I have a feeling I will need to keep getting larger tanks in the future.
Thanks for the interest everyone , thats an interesting point Helen about water quality , in association with growth, i tend to agree, not to sure about tank size though, i suspect one or two folk's out there , have largish fish grown on in smallish tanks ! i don't mean as a rule , more as an exception , anyway lets keep this ball rolling , its very interesting .
