Thanks for sharing, Marcos :)

All your fish are lovely, and your new kubs will make a nice addition to an already beautiful tank.

Marcos,

What method did you use to rid these kubs of ich?

Did you use any medications or just high heat? If you used heat, what temperature did you use?

I recently acquired 5 kubs that are in quarantine. Yesterday, I noticed one breathing very quickly, and today that one is scratching on decor. There are no other signs of ich---no spots.

I hope I don't lose any of them.

Thanks

EDIT: Sorry Marcos,

I just tested my water for ammonia, and I have a reading of 1 PPM. I haven't had a high ammonia reading in almost a year. Perhaps I have been over-feeding these guys. I going to do a partial water change right now. I've also lowered the water level and increased the temperature--just in case.
I should have tested the water first.

I agree it sounds like poor water quality in the Qtank
I try to feed really lightly at first in a new tank (even when seeded with filter material). The cleaner water is better than a stuffed belly.

New skinny Kubs are capable of lots of eating....the group I got in March created a nitrite spike in their qtank, I had to add Prime daily for two weeks until it settled down....

---

Marcos, nice Kubs....2.5"-3", right? If possible, it would be nice to see the side views, especially the fellow on the right in the bag -- there is that question of multiple dots correlating with long face and/or sex.

Hi Loachmon,

This 2 kubotai where waiting for me on a shop for las t 2 weeks. No sign of any ich.
There were 5 other in a QT in another shop but 3 passed away. The remaining 2 got ich. They are still there beeing healed with Malachite Green and 30°C in a 10 gallon tank with no lights.

You´d better watch out your filtration. I just added today a new 2000 L/h powerhead. My total filtration now is 11,3X.

Here, some new shots taken today:

Gorgeous Oscar, Marcos! Looks like he likes having his photo taken!

Thanks for the advice about the ich treatment. I was just in watching the kubs, and I believe I see some ich spots. So now I have an ammonia spike and ich in the same tank. Poor fish!!

The temp is up right now, and I have malachite green. Hope they all pull through.

Thanks.
