Possible Gremlin? ....JEFF?

Post by Martin Thoene » Wed Oct 03, 2007 9:07 pm

Anybody else experiencing anything weird with the site tonight? Several times now I have been switching from post to post and my screen comes up white with

<v:fill
method

in the main area top left plus makes a "Blip" noise. Then a message comes up saying the website wants to run 'outlook.exe' from 'Microsoft something, forget what now)' and do i want to run it if it is a trusted site?

Naturally I've got the hell away from it pronto. My Firewall is on so I'm not sure what's up. It's happened several times and only on this site.

Martin.

I'm getting the white page periodically, but nothing trying to run and no error message.

I browse with Firefox. Don't know if that makes a difference.

I get that the page can't be displayed when I try to reply, but it worked fine this time. I run Norton anti-virus.

Did I miss the fun? I've been clicking around and can't find an example of this problem to troubleshoot. The forum code itself seems safe and unchanged in the last year or so.

Edit: I'm browsing in both I.E. and Firefox, in case one or the other is hiding these issues.

I got the white page several times, but nowt else. I'm running safari on a mac though, so dodgy stuff doesn't have much chance of working.

I got the white page a few times yesterday. I recommend getting firefox and scanning for malware using spybot search and destroy.
